Lauren Fitzgerald is a natural light and studio portrait photographer specializing in children’s portraiture. An award-winning author and seasoned photographer, Lauren’s duel interests in writing and photography led her to earn a Journalism degree from the prestigious Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, where she graduated Magna cum Laude with honors.
Her natural style and earthy aesthetic has made her a popular choice among children’s photographers in the Washington-Baltimore area. Her photographs are rich with texture and depth, incorporating every inch of the10-acre property and studio in which she works. Lauren’s philosophy is that a portrait should capture the subject’s true personality by giving little if any instruction on how to behave or “pose” before the camera. Her restrained approach creates photographs that are organic and authentic, unlike traditional franchise portraits that tend to appear flat and uninspired. She prefers to capture her adult subjects in the same manner whenever possible.
