Frequently Asked Questions

Q – How does Lauren’s work differ from other photographers?
A – Artistic portraiture differs significantly from the generic franchise photos that many people are familiar with. Unlike “shoot-and-burn” photographers who snap photos and then put them directly onto a disc for their clients, Lauren’s work does not end after your session is over. After selecting the best photos from your session, she spends hours painstakingly editing each photo by hand, using a series of processing techniques that she has developed over the years. A single image can take up to an hour to edit to perfection. The resulting portrait is a beautiful, finished work of art.

Q – Where does Lauren photograph?
A – Lauren works exclusively out of Valleybrook Studios, a 10-acre residential private property in Western Howard County. The property has unlimited sceneries and locations for portraits and includes an on-site portrait studio.

Q – Will Lauren come to my home?
A – Lauren takes on-location work on a limited basis within 15 miles of 21797. Please inquire as to her availability for location work. She also holds special, natural light sessions at locations such as Brighton Dam Azelea Gardens and Centennial Park at various times of the year. Travel and set-up charges will apply.

Q – Does Lauren give the digital files with her session fee?
A -The session fee covers Lauren’s time and talent, both during your session and in post-processing. It does not include any files or prints. CDs are only provided with the purchase a portrait package. Due to the extensive amount of work that Lauren puts into each finished image, high resolution images are ONLY offered when purchasing a Signature Collection.

Q – When will my proofs and prints be ready?
A – In general, you will receive your private proofing gallery within 1-2 weeks following your session. Prints and products arrive within 3-4 weeks after you place your order. This includes the time it takes for Lauren to individually edit and process each photo by hand, submit your order to the lab, and review the final product for quality before sending it to you. Please allow more time during the holiday season.
