Moving ahead…BIG announcement (Maryland child photographer)

This fall/winter I will be offering a new type of session just for children ages 3-14. Imagine Me is something that has been in the works (in my head) for some time, and the time has finally come to set it in motion.

I have always felt that the beautiful scenery and location I can provide my clients is something that no one else in the area can reproduce. I am excited to take this to a whole new level and provide my clients with photos that they REALLY cannot get from anyone else, by using a combination of unique costumes, beautiful natural scenery and sets and a bit of special effects. I think this will make the photography process much more enjoyable to my very young clients, and provide them with something unique they can cherish forever. Children will even be able to incorporate their own stories and artwork into the finished product, making the entire process 100% individualized to your child.

With this new venture, I will slowly be changing maternity/newborn sessions to natural, family-centered sessions only (hang on, let me explain…) As any photographer will tell you, there are just too many newborn photographers now flooding the market, providing sub-par quality to the public, and putting newborns at risk. Quite frankly, it has become difficult for me to be associated with an industry that has no certification or guidelines for newborn photography. The recent trend of babies stuffed into glass jars, put onto railroad tracks or hanging from trees is just not something I wish to be associated with anymore. I will still offer maternity/newborn sessions, but they will be strictly of a natural, realistic type. This will also mean shorter newborn sessions, as there will not be hours of propping involved. As any of my former clients will tell you, newborn photography is a long, grueling process that is exhausting for parents, babies and the photographer. This new method and aesthetic will be more natural and relaxing all the way around, and provide, I believe, more beautiful and emotive images that focus on the relationship of the parents and child rather than fancy props or poses.

Please email me if you would like to be among the first to take advantage of Imagine Me portraits. A brochure will be available sometime in late September.
