It’s probably obvious that I have been neglecting my blog over the past year. To be honest, the time constraints of being a mom (now with three children in three different schools), a wife and a business owner has forced me to make some difficult choices. I had hoped to blog some of this fall’s sessions, and perhaps I will over the winter break when I will have more time. The sad but honest truth is, it’s getting harder each year to stretch myself so thin and still get 6 or more hours of sleep a night.
Over the past few years I have also become serious about running. As anyone who runs knows, once you take that step from casual runner to avid runner, it becomes a part of your life that’s impossible to live without it. Needless to say, in order to fulfill my duties as mom, wife, photographer and runner, something had to give. Sadly, my blogging schedule was the first to go.
But on to the future…
In January my business will take a new turn with my new venture, ImagineMe. These are artistic, concept sessions for children ages 4-14 (essentially, any child old enough to follow directions and enjoy dramatic, fantasy play.) In the beginning, only one concept will be offered per month, and openings will be limited. Brochures are almost completed and will be available after the first of the year. With this new adventure and the more exclusive nature of my business, I will be able to dedicate more time to each client, producing custom, one-of-a-kind artwork and products. I am hoping the blog will also be resurrected; either here or in another location and format. And while I cannot reveal all of the details yet, I will be posting some previews of my first few Imagine Me sessions here over the next several weeks, just to give you a small window into the world of concept photography and what these sessions are about.
Happy Holidays!!
~Lauren
